Bennett William Lunceford, Troop 773, out of the Potomac United Methodist Church, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at the troop Court of Honor on Sept. 27. Bennett's Eagle project was to convert a day use area at the Marsden Tract of the C&O Canal to a usable campsite, including clearing the space for tents and access, and constructing and installing picnic tables and a fire pit on the site. He worked with the C&O Canal Trust and the U.S. Park Service to plan and execute this project. Bennett graduated from St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac in June. He is currently a Freshman at Bucknell University as a Dean's Scholar and four-year Army ROTC scholarship recipient.
