Poem

It rained yesterday

Umbrella rainbow of bright colors

Through the rain of summer

A child’s imagination

The laughter and purity of it.

Jogger in many bright colors

Like 40 or more I would say

Along the bike path

Through the summer rain.

Touch of rain in a child’s hands

Fun in the rain

A mother and her child walking

Umbrella of one.

All the joggers jogging one direction

In the eyes of a child

To run and catch the rain.

That he did, from under the umbrella,

Arms and little palm of hands stretch out

To catch the rain of summer

A child’s laughter full of joy

Running and laughing.

Little feet not completely touching the ground

Tip toe of a run like a child’s first steps.
