“May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.” This Irish blessing was read in harmony by the more than 3,000 mourners who attended the memorial service for Dr. Michael Doran, principal of Wootton High School for 12 years.

Potomac: Mt. Prospect Farms To Be Developed

One of the last working farms In Potomac.

“I’ve been here since 1941 and I love this place. I rode horseback from here to Landon School and spent my summers farming,” said Bob Hanson, 91, recalling the days when Potomac was primarily farming and fox hunting country. Nearly 75 years ago Hanson’s parents, Minna and William Hanson, bought the original property and named it Mt. Prospect Farms.

After Curtis Brand was diagnosed with amyotrophic laterals sclerosis (ALS) and he could no longer climb stairs, he and his wife, Judith, had to make the difficult decision to sell their home in northwest Washington, D.C. They then purchased a two-bedroom, two-bathroom property on the 18th floor of Turnberry Tower in Arlington.
